Sri Panduranga Vittala Mandira was established in 1973 by the well known Madhwa scholar and guru Sri Gurugovinda Vittala dasaru of Mysore. Born Govinda Rao M R, he converted his house into an abode for Panduranga. The Mandira is managed by a Private Trust – Sri Gurugovinda Nivasa Trust.

The house itself was built in 1940. Since it had become old and dilapidated, the Mandira was reconstructed
